Born in John Betjeman's Metroland suburb of Pinner.
Educated at St. Nicholas Grammar School.
A career spent as a copywriter in advertising agencies, followed by 5 years working as a gardener.
Keen interest in 20th century art, red wine and sport.
Lived in New Zealand for 9 years. Two daughters.
First novel The Good Man's Daughter published 2011.
Lives in Devon with his partner and 2 dogs.
